Hi,
My name is Ian Downing, the owner of SlopeStyle Ski & Ride and I am living my dream. I grew up here in Montpelier, Vermont and found my way into the ski industry through our high school “CBL”(Community Based Learning) program. From working part time in a ski shop during my high school years I ventured off to Colorado Mountain College to continue my learning of the business and of course ski some amazing snow in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In 2010 I had the opportunity to realize my dream of owning a ski shop at the young age of 23. I partnered up with my former boss and mentor Gordie Eurich (now retired and living his dream of skiing 100+ days per season in Utah) and SlopeStyle was born. Fast forward to today and my shop has grown, I now have my own kids who are learning to ski, and I am back living in my hometown. The one thing that has not changed is I wake up every day living my dream of owning a ski shop and am so grateful for the community for continuing to support us year in and year out. Shopping with us is as local as it gets and we have a true passion for getting you outside on gear we love using.
